ROTORS
Getting the center
of gravity just right

The rotor is an extremely small,
yet indispensable component that contains a permanent magnet.
In quartz watches,
the rotor converts electric signals from the coil
into the physical rotations that drive the gears and hands.

Stability is the most important property for rotors.
A rotor magnet that is even fractionally off-center will have a
seriously adverse impact on the precision of the watch.

For that reason, at MIYOTA we take great care to ensure
that our rotor magnets are fixed precisely and firmly in position.
We also grind the pivot of our metal rotors to an ultrafine diameter of
just 0.1 mm to boost energy-transmission efficiency.

The rotor must have a friction-resistant structure
because it is continuously rotating.
Any unevenness of rotation negatively impacts
the longevity of the watch itself.
To avoid such outcomes, MIYOTA follows its standard playbook and
does every part of the job,
from meticulous initial design to ultraprecise processing, in-house.
