SETTING STEMS
A multitude of processes
go into this single component

The setting stem is the long,
thin rod that connects the crown to the gears.
A single component, it performs multiple tasks,
from setting the time and the date to winding
the mainspring in mechanical watches.

With human force being repeatedly transmitted through it,
the stetting stem needs to be abrasion resistant and highly durable.
At MIYOTA, we chose to use stainless steel materials
for their strength and corrosion resistance.

The setting stem is very far from just a simple rod.
Whether the delicate part which links to the movement,
the screw threads, the groove, or the square for the clutch,
multiple techniques go into its manufacture.
At MIYOTA, we are able to craft high-quality setting stems because
we do everything—from design to all the turning operations—in-house.
Obviously, we create setting stems of different lengths and
shapes for different case diameters and specifications.

The setting stem is the only component that connects
the watch movement to the watch user physically and directly.
At MIYOTA, no matter how small and intricate the part,
we choose the most suitable materials and
manage the whole end-to-end process ourselves
to ensure quality of the very highest level.
