
CIRCUIT BLOCKS
We developed our own
integrated circuit chips

The circuit block is a crucial component in quartz watches.
It enables the combination of precise timekeeping and
low power consumption that is the hallmark of the category.
The integrated circuit—the “brain” of the watch,
which controls the frequency of the crystal oscillator and
transmits the signals that drive the watch—is mounted on the circuit block.

At MIYOTA, we design and develop our
integrated circuit chips in-house.
When it comes to chips for watches, though,
high performance alone is not enough;
they also need to be small enough to fit into a limited space.

We use an interconnection technique known as
“flip chip” to mount the chip on the circuit board.
Compared to standard interconnects,
flip chip is highly space efficient and
contributes to the overall miniaturization of the movement.


Every stage of the process—from manufacture to testing and
rate adjustment—is conducted on our high-speed automatic line.

using in-house technology is
